Tree This is a photo etching that explores the differences between a photographic and printmaking aesthetic. As an etching, the image abstracts the landscape through a tactile sense of ink on paper. It also abstracts the all-seeing quality of the photograph by lessening the detail in favor of the ink. The tree is locked in between these two ways of seeing. |
